Zipcars are coming to Oxy!
Starting the first week of September 2010, two zipcars will be parked on the Occidental campus for members to rent. All Occidental community members 18 years and older can join Zipcar at www.zipcar.com/oxy for $35.00 per year.
Zipcar is the world’s largest car sharing program and an alternative to traditional car rental and car ownership.
If you are a student, we hope that as you think about whether to bring a car to campus next semester, the availability of zip car, bike sharing, and informal car sharing with friends and roommates will factor in to your decision.
Local residents who want to live car-free or drive your car less frequently can also join zipcar and use the cars on campus as well as other cars parked in and beyond L.A.
That’s great news! Hopefully, students/staff/faculty take a serious look at the cost/potential savings. no insurance, no maintenance, much less liability and freedom.
